I hope you are sitting down for this one, it’s a doozy: bbc
news on thurs announced that some European commission has issued
an appeal to cocaine users to consider the social and
environmental consequences of their cocaine use. Yes, you heard
right. An appeal to the higher social consciousness and
sensitivities of cocaine addicts. If the guy sitting next to you
at your local bar offered this pearl of wisdom, you would fall
off your bar stool laughing, but it actually came from experts
hired by some European govt. yes boys and girls, someone
actually got paid to come up with this suggestion. seems we are
not the only nation wasting our tax dollars on utter
foolishness.
Next item: about a week or so ago tt hipp aluded to a story
out of Britain concerning an Iraqi insurgent attack on a us ammo
base that resulted in over 300 us casualities and was
subsequently hushed up by the us govt. a listener has forwarded
links to tbrnews.org which seems to authenticate the stories of
insurgent attack on the ammo dump at fort falcon outside bagdad
and the possible casualties of upwards of 300 us troops. No
other media sources seem to have picked up this story.
Next item: for those of you who love a good conspiracy
theory, try this one: mackwhite.com The CIA Assassination of
John Lennon.html>> it’s a short article and it made
surprisingly compelling sense. Stranger things have turned out
to be true. Check it out. mackwhite.com The CIA Assassination of

Next item: a few reflections on yesterdays election:
reporting of local election results were delayed due to problems
with the new diebold electronic voting machines. Wait a minute.
In spite of my feeble short term memory, don’t I recall that
one of the major reasons electronic voting machines are the
greatest invention since sliced bread is that they speed up the
vote counting process? and now we discover that our shiny new
and very expensive diebold machines delayed rather than speeded
up the vote counting. Progress, you got to love it. Related
item: I believe in the Chicago voting axiom of voting early and
often, and when I went into my polling place to vote I asked to
see the diebold voting machine even tho I had no intention of
using it. The election official took me over and showed it to
me, and warned me that it would not produce a paper
receipt. Wait a minute. Our esteemed board of sups voted to
spend a quarter of a million dollars to lease supposedly state
of the art machines that still wont produce a paper receipt? The
election offical mentioned that the mfgr didn’t have time to
add that feature, and I responded by stating that diebold had
been producing atm and supermarket checkout machines for years
if not decades that did give paper receipts and that was simply
a false story. I then asked her if she would give money to her
bank or its atm machine without receiving a paper receipt. She
admitted she would not and stated that most voters coming into
her poling station had offered similar comments and refused to
use the machine. So lets credit nev city voters with the
political acumen to spurn electronic voting machines, while we
scratch our heads in wonderment at the nev co board of sups for
spending such a large sum of tax payer money for leasing voting
machines that don’t produce a paper receipt. The sups can hide
behind the old story of the feds forced us to do it, or that
bruce mcpherson the calif sec of state reversed his predecessors
decision and approved these machines, but I don’t buy it. The
sups could have put up a fight and they didn’t even try. Final
note: Correct me if im wrong, but didn’t bill lockyer, who
while serving as sec of state decertified the diebold machines,
win his election battle while bruce mcpherson., who succeeded
lockyer as sec of state and then reversed that decision and
approved these onorous machines lost his election battle? A bit
of election karma coming down?
Next item: well charlie brown fought the good fight, but lost
to big john Doolittle. Wont it be cool if the dems show more
huevos then we expect of them and proceed to seriously
investigate Doolittle for his financial shenigans and big john
ends up doing some serious jail time? I think it would be kind
of cool if my elected rep was serving me while serving time in
the big house. I had hoped that Doolittle would lose just so I
could be the first to offer him a job doing community service
for kvmr. It would have been the first time in his adult life
that he served the people rather than the fat cats. Please keep
firmly in mind that my opinions are my own and don’t
necessarily reflect those of anyone connected with kvmr
management, staff, contributors, or dogs lying under the
furniture.
Next item: the senatorial race in Virginia is so close, and
so important to the gop that it will probably be decided by a
recount. 2 things to keep in mind. In the last election, va had
no ability to recount opti scanned votes. It seems that their
opti scan machines produced no paper trail. I haven’t heard if
that obvious path to corruption had been remedied or if va will
have a flawed recount. We got this great machine, produced and
programmed by republicans, and you have to trust us that its
counting accurately cause we didn’t provide any means of your
checking up on it. Technology republican style. One further
tidbit. I threw away the article that gave me this info so I’ll
have to try to paraphrase it, but it seems that some important
official election material in that va senatorial election
omitted not only the last name of the democratic challenger but
his party affiliation as well. The material, published by the
state, refered to dem candidate james webb as james, jim, and
left off his last name as well as that he was the democratic
candidate. His opponent, george allen was properly identified by
name and party affiliation. Isn’t it curious that in each and
every reported instance of machine glitches, the glitch favored
the republicans. Amazing coincidence isn’t it? Yet another
curious incident in va. Voters reg as dems have received phone
calls claiming to be from the va elections commission and
notifying them that they are registered to vote in new york and
if they attempt to vote in va they will be prosecuted for vote
fraud. Ah, the fun and games never ceases does it?
