July 5 commentary

"For links to the articles I read on the air, guest websites, archived shows, my commentaries, a listener's discussion forum, and the text of Mark Stanneart’s latest commentary, visit: www.rabblerousing.org."

Wow. This mornings npr news is slavishly reporting on condi rice pronouncement that the world is outraged, not just concerned mind you, but outraged, at the north Koreans having the audacity to shoot off 7 unarmed missiles that were targeted to land in the ocean. Outraged. And how does the world feel about the Americans shooting off thousands of missiles that are targeted to land on and blow up iraq houses and the families in them? Oh, excuse me, thats not worth mentioning.

As if that news wasn’t enuff to disturb my mornings torpor, travis t hipp had the gall to imply this morn that the us govt influenced mexico’s recent election. How dare he suggest that America would stoop to such depths simply to guarantee that the president of a nation who supplies us with large quantities of oil would do our bidding. Especially if he knew that he was elected due to our tampering with his election. Im shocked that travis would make such a claim. Especially on the day after the forth of july. Has the man no sense of decency or patriotism? Then I got further depressed when I read greg paslasts reportage of the buildup to mexicos election. I’ll read some of it to you. Im sure he’s wrong, but in the interest of fairness, I report it anyway.
