June 28 commentary
"For links to the articles I read on the air, guest
websites, archived shows, my commentaries, a listener's
discussion forum, and the text of Mark Stanneart’s latest
commentary, visit: www.rabblerousing.org."
Some guy back in the 1700’s had this to say about govt.
"Government is not reason; it is not eloquence; it is
force! Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a
fearful master." -- his name was George Washington
and it seems he knew what he was talking about.
My new favorite bumper sticker: to all nations of the world:
be nice to us or we will impose democracy upon you.
Next item: you want to know something truly bizarre? The most
important meeting of the year just took place, a meeting that
will affect every industrial nation on earth and much of the 3rd
world. It took place june 9-11 in Toronto Canada and you never
even heard about it. Toronto june 9-11, The bilderburger society
had their annual secret meeting wherein they formulate their
agenda and goals for the next year. Ordinary journalists are not
admitted , but the worlds leading newspaper publishers are
invited, with the proviso that they report nothing, not even
report that the meetings took place. They are sworn to secrecy.
The American free press is the only us publication im aware of
that even mentions the builderburger meetings. To give you the
briefest idea of who attends and forgets to mention it, this
from afp. READ AFP ARTICLE. Now then. For those of you who still
think uncle chamba is just some wacko conspiracy nut, and I
include Armstrong and getty, who im told alluded to this show on
one of their broadcasts, I have a simple question: why do
leaders of major corporations, select politicians of the worlds
most powerful and influential nations, and major editors and
publishers from the worlds most influential publications all
meet each year behind massive security and secrecy, and its
never reported? Not a single word in mainstream media. If that
aint a conspiracy then I don’t know what is. Take it away,
boys. If you don’t think the elite control the world, you
simply aint payin attention. And if the builderburger meetings
aint news, I don’t know what is.
Next item: even the weekly astrological predication on the
web had an interesting take on king geo"s adventure in iraq.
I quote: Time to reframe the words as the Nodes change signs out
of ARIES into PISCES. Let’s start calling it an occupation. As
even king George said, "Major Combat Operations in Iraq
are over!" (He said that a few years ago on a ship off
the coast of California.) We are an occupying force in a country
not our own. Definition of the word Occupation: The invasion,
conquest and control of a nation or territory by a foreign
military force. Occupations end. Occupations have time
tables. Occupations have plans. All occupied countries take over
from the foreign military force. We "won" the war. Our
military did that a while ago. We overthrew Saddam Hussein. If
we keep referring to it as the WAR in Iraq instead of the
OCCUPATION of Iraq, we’ll never leave! One just completely
HATES to "lose" wars. One doesn’t "lose"
occupations ~ the nation involved takes over, in an orderly,
planned manner with a timetable. And we bring our soldiers home.
Next item: this is the teaser for an article in online
journal. We don’t need to read the article. The opening
sentence tells it all. For weeks the media had been filled with
reports on and arguments about the Marriage Protection
amendment, which was soundly defeated in the Senate on June 7,
as everyone knew it would be. But it served its fund-raising
purpose
nevertheless.
Next item: this item sent in by a listener: Two state
legislators are trying to pass a "stealth" bill that
would make it illegal for citizens to pass voter initiatives to
protect themselves from Genetically Engineered agriculture in
their local cities or counties. As the bill is
written, it would remove the rights of local governments to pass
ANY laws regulating the use (including the growing) of ANY seeds
and nursery stock. No adequate state or federal laws
currently exist to monitor, test, and protect us from the use of
Genetically Engineered organisms. Consequently, local
governments are our last governmental resort. The right
to pass local ordinances for local citizens is fundamental to
the spirit of democracy. We fought the revolutionar
y war over such key values. The legislators’ methods
for passing this legislation are underhanded. They
both tried to sneak their law under the radar by burying them in
other bills that were completely unrelated, effectively hiding
the issue from voters AND legislators. The stealth
legislation is placed in Senate Bill SB1056. The
Assembly Agriculture Committee will be reviewing this
legislation today. If this issue concerns you, you notify your
state senator and state assembly person of your position on this
bill AND ask them to notify you of their intentions AND their
vote on this bill, should it make it to the floor for a vote.

Next item: . Cong john Doolittle did it again. Got
his name and photo in the union. This time with a silly story
about almost offering a stupid amendment for a vote before
congress. The guy is a genius. He is really clever at gaining
all this free campaign publicity. He toys with offering an
amendment that blatantly favors polititians such as himself,
then conveniently withdraws his proposal, but reaps all this
publicity, as if it were real news. The guy is a genius. He
plays the game of political brilliantly. If only he had our
interests at heart. This from the gv union thurs 22 june.
Congressman John Doolittle's proposal to stop public funding of
presidential campaigns met with fierce opposition by campaign
finance reform groups, leading the District 4 Representative to
shelve the amendment - at least for now.
Doolittle considered offering the one-sentence change to public
presidential campaign funding as an amendment to the
Transportation, Treasury and HUD Appropriations Bill approved by
the U.S. House on June 14, but ultimately decided against it.
Doolittle spokesperson Laura Blackann said the congressman will
"probably introduce (the amendment) at a later time."
Many agree that public presidential funding laws, introduced in
the wake of the Watergate scandal in order to deter corruption,
need fixing. Neither of the eventual Democratic or Republican
presidential candidates used public funding during the 2004
primary races.
The current system is in "serious trouble," Federal
Election Commission Chairman Scott Thomas wrote in a 2005 letter
to Congress, adding that unless it is changed it "runs the
risk of being totally irrelevant in the 2008 election and
beyond." No shit Sherlock. The pp above states that in
the last election neither candidate of the one party pretending
to be two used any public funding. It aint going to be
irrevalent, big guy, it already is, and always has been for
federal elections. It’s a clever scheme to fool folks into
thinking we have any form of actual campaign financing control.
the union article concludes with an interesting pp.
Doolittle was among the minority that voted against the
Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act of 2002, which banned soft money
contributions and imposed other restrictions on how politicians
can raise money. He has also been widely criticized for his
close ties to Jack Abramoff, the political lobbyist convicted of
fraud.
This item from wm blum, online journal guest writer: With
Bill Gates's announcement that he'll be phasing out his
day-to-day participation in Microsoft, the media has carried a
lot of adulatory stories about the Wunderkind, who became the
world's youngest self-made billionaire at age 31. I do not mean
to detract from Gates's accomplishments when I point out that
for him to have become a billionaire just six years after
introducing the MS-DOS 1.0 operating system, Microsoft had to be
charging a lot more -- an awful lot more -- for its software
than it had to based on the company's costs. There are those,
enamored by the philosophy, practice, and folklore of free
enterprise and rugged individualism, who will declare:
"More power to the guy! He deserved every penny of
it!" There are others, enamored by the vision of a more
equitable society, who question how the current distribution of
property and wealth can reasonably be said to derive from any
sort of democratic process. By the 21st century, American
society should have evolved beyond 2 percent with breathtaking
wealth and 75 percent with a daily struggle for a decent life,
including the middle class. In fact, along such lines we're
regressing. This is almost heresy to many Americans, who are
unwilling to tamper with political and economic arrangements,
though they have no qualms about meddling with people's sex
lives, women's bodies, and other moral issues. Greed and
selfishness are natural, they insist, and have to be catered to.
But if the system should cater to selfishness because it's
natural, why not cater to aggression which many of the same
people claim is natural?
Next item: some restaurant owner outside Philadelphia has a
large sign board outside his establishment with hilarious
political signs he changes every week. . Here are a few of his
very public signs: the seatbelt laws are a giant money making
machine for cities and insurance co’s. ask your legislators
why 40 million kids can ride school buses twice a day without
seat belts. And: this is America: why must we press one to
proceed in English? And dear mr president: piss on the camel
jockeys. Bring home the troops now. Leave behind plenty of
bombs. They will kill themselves. That’s their way of life.
And: arabs guarding our ports? Are you f**** crazy? Whats next?
Child molesters permitted to open day care centers? Its time to
dump the president. And: the freak found not guilty. Neverland
chicken ranch now open for business. Young boys wanted. Free
drinks and sleepovers. And whats the dirfference between highway
robbery and our gas prices? Answer: not a damn thing. Just govt
approved. And: pres bush’s great fuel economy program for suv’s
and trucks: it will save 30 gal per year in 2008. this equates
to a midget pissing on a forest fire. Admittedely the guy is not
necessarily politically correct but he has taken free speech and
creativity to new heights. For more of his work visit
