well. The great state of calif, in your name, executed tookie
Williams. Do you feel safer, now that the voice of the only guy
the street gangs would listen to has been silenced? Are you
righteously proud of our justice system? Gov arnie had a chance
to put politics aside and chose the higher path. Of course he
blew it. My thinking on this one is simple. I really don’t
care if tookie were guilty or innocent. The simple fact is that
he had become an asset to society. He was in the unique position
to influence street gangs. Could gov arnie, with all his money
and Hollywood fame influence street gangs? No way. Could you or
I reach them? Nope. But tookie could and did. He was one of the
few that at risk youth would listen to. He had cred like no one
else. He served all the functions and values we pretend to
espouse. He had rehabilitated himself, changed his life around,
and was serving society. His reward? Kill him. Sure encourages
other prisoners to work to rehabilitate themselves doesn’t it?
Just one more proof that we live on a planet of the insane.
Hey, whatever happened to the bird flu scare? I guess Donnie
rumsfeld made enuff money off of that scam so we move on to
other scary stuff. and of course there is so much other
manufactured news to scare us with. The following is off on dr
mercola’s web site. www.mercola,com
This
week's British Medical Journal has an editorial on the bird
flu in which they state the following:
"The lack of sustained human-to-human
transmission suggests that this AH5N1 avian virus
does not currently have the capacity to cause a human
pandemic"
While they do go on to say the virus could mutate with the
influenza A virus and has the potential to acquire the means for
rapid human to human transmission, it does NOT have this ability
now. All the preparation and fear being created in the media is
about a theoretical speculation.
this is all about creating fear and panic to benefit the drug
companies. Now, I am still not opposed to being prepared for
this potential bird flu pandemic. It is POSSIBLE it might
materialize. But if it did there is no way that the flu vaccine
or Tamiflu will mitigate its damage. No way.
Finally, the pieces of the puzzle start to add up. Not long
ago, President Bush sought to instill
panic in this country by telling us a minimum of 200,000
people will die from the avian flu pandemic, but it could be as
bad as 2 million deaths in this country alone.
This hoax is then used to justify the immediate purchase of
80 million doses of Tamiflu, a worthless drug that in no way
shape or form treats the avian flu, but only decreases the
amount of days one is sick and can actually contribute to the
virus evolving into more lethal mutations.
So the U.S. placed an order for 20 million doses of this
worthless drug at a price of $100 per dose. That comes to a
staggering $2 billion.
We are being told that Roche manufactures Tamiflu and, in a
recent New York Times article, roche was battling
whether or not they would allow generic drug companies to help
increase their production.
But if you dig further you will find that the drug was
actually developed by a company called Gilead that 10 years ago gave
Roche the exclusive rights to market and sell Tamiflu.
Ahh, The Plot Thickens...
If you read the link below from Gilead, you'll discover
Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld was made the chairman of
Gilead i n 1997. Since Rumsfeld still holds major portions of
stock in Gilead, just think how much he will profit from the
scare tactics of his government that is being used to justify
the purchase of $2 billion of Tamiflu. My comment: don’t
you just love it? Capitalism, American style.
Hey, recall the Katrina hurricane that devastated new
Orleans? Recall when I read those inflammatory conjectures about
the govt blowing up levees to flood poor areas of new Orleans in
order to save other areas? Wild stories eh wat? Outlandish.
Chamba has lost it, finally gone too far. Maybe, maybe not. The
gist of this story comes from www.dailykos.com
Seems there was a hearing held in wash dc a few weeks back. The
hearing, requested by Rep. Cynthia mckinney of ga. was held by a
special House committee, chaired by Rep. Tom Davis, R-Va., and
was investigating the government's preparations and response to
Katrina. Evidently a witness named mama d was quite explicit in
her testimony The hearing was broadcast on cspan and some web
poster wrote the following comments: . "This was the most
amazing hearing. If you didn't see it yesterday [on cspan]
look for it to repeat. The Congressmen tried to get Mama D
to not go overtime and she scolded them, saying she came up from
N'awlins with a list of complaints from fellow victims and she
is going to read ALL of them.
Then she accused rep Chris Shays republican of Connecticut,
of accusing the victims of lying about police pointing M-16s at
5 year olds, spoke of perfectly fine housing projects in areas
that were never flooded, that Bush had steel-plated and closed,
and then spoke of a LEVEE BOMB (and she went "BA-BOOOOOM!
right in the hearing room). the panel later said that
there are numerous witnesses to the explosion sound and divers
have found a 30-foot crater at the bottom of the 17th St. Levee
that flooded the 9th Ward,. My comment: if any listeners
have more info on any craters at bottom of any new Orleans
levee, or any other stories concerning possible bombing of
levees, send em in. this is a wild story, but I find it
interesting that it wont go away. back to the article. In
addition, the panel said historically, towns have blown levees
upstream to prevent their own town from flooding, so blowing up
levees was nothing new for Louisiana. They cited the following
example: When the rains broke records in April 1927, the Gulf of
Mexico was full and worked as a stopper to the Mississippi. The
Mississippi was full, too, pushing its own waters up
tributaries, breaking levees and causing flooding as far as Ohio
and Texas. All that water had to go somewhere. It couldn't go to
New Orleans, panicky city fathers told the Army Corps of
Engineers; as it would devastate the regional economy. To
save New Orleans, the leaders proposed a radical plan. South of
the city, the population was mostly rural and poor. The leaders
appealed to the federal government to essentially sacrifice
those parishes by blowing up an earthen levee and diverting the
water to marshland. They promised restitution to people who
would lose their homes. Government officials, including Commerce
Secretary Herbert Hoover, signed off. On April 29, the levee
at Caernarvon, 13 miles south of New Orleans, succumbed to 39
tons of dynamite. The river rushed through at 250,000 cubic
feet per second. New Orleans was saved, but the misery of the
flooded parishes had only started. The city fathers took years
to make good on their promises, and very few residents ever saw
any compensation at all. The water, which had started rising
on Good Friday, would not recede until July. Many victims would
never return to their homes. Hoover, who won support for leading
relief efforts, went on to win the presidential election. And
the Corps of Engineers, who had said the levees would hold, was
humbled. Final note; last week, amy goodmans democracy now
featured this very hearing and played several segments of
witness testimony incl mama d. did amy play mama d stating
emphatically that many people heard the explosion ba boom?
Or did amy omit this provocative accusation? I didn’t hear the
entire show, but what I did hear, incl testimony by mama d, did
not include her speaking about the explosion. If it was omitted,
one has to wonder why. Again: if anyone comes up with more info
on the levees being encouraged to fail with explosives provided
by sources unknown, please send em to chamba@kvmr.org
And while you're at it, please send a copy to webmaster@rabblerousing.org
so I can post it here.
